“Paris is Always a Good Idea”
Audrey Hepburn – ‘Sabrina’
Ivy & Aster presented their latest bridal collection through online media outlets including their website, Facebook, and Instagram. They captured their collection through photography and film in a way that communicated each piece to buyers and press, as if they were there in person to experience the dresses first hand. Why Paris? Why Not! Paris is one of those places that when given an opportunity to visit, most anyone would say ‘yes’. With its rich history and fabled love stories, Paris was the idyllic city to inspire Ivy & Aster’s Spring 2018 Collection. Parisian women have a way of always looking effortlessly perfect, feminine, classy and elegant. This look was translated into dresses of lace, chiffon, and tulle. Ivy & Aster started integrating cleaner lines and classically polished looks into their collection last fall, and wanted to channel even more of this into the Spring 2018 line. While dreaming of what a Parisian Ivy & Aster bride would be like, the newest collection was born.
During planning and development, while fabrics and laces were carefully hand picked and when styles were designed, a very fateful introduction took place. Ivy & Aster was contacted by two wonderful Parisians looking to open a new multi-brand bridal concept in Paris called Pandore. After some discussion, much like a love story, the two companies fell in ‘love’ and Ivy & Aster was selected as the exclusive American designer for their beautiful atelier, which is scheduled to open in May. “While working and talking with Pandore, we immediately loved their brand and store concept. Then they sent us some amazing visuals for their store launch and it really felt like the right match.” said Jessica Brown of Ivy & Aster. Coincidentally, the connection played perfectly into the inspiration for the Spring 2018 collection. “The idea of bringing a few Parisian touches to our already whimsical and wearable gowns was the right direction for us this season”.
To show the best aspects of the collection the dresses were photographed in both classic black & white and color. The black and white images are timeless and the color images against a beautiful sky blue background bring out the taupe and blush undertones that are often used in Ivy & Aster’s gowns. Playing off this concept, video footage of the photo shoot was created to show both behind the scenes imagery and the dresses in full detail. The models were turned on a 360 degree studio table, which enabled a complete view of the gowns’ details from every angle. “We feel this type of presentation brings the viewer as close as possible to attending a presentation. So many of our international accounts were already buying solely from photos, so we felt this was the next step in bringing our dresses to even more viewers all over the world”.
